Imtiaz Jaleel Named in Chargesheet in Nashik TCS Conversion Case.
3,500-Page Chargesheet Filed; MIM Leader Says He’s Ready for Probe, Stood by Accused’s Family
Nashik– The name of former AIMIM MP Imtiaz Jaleel has been directly mentioned in the first chargesheet filed in Nashik’s high-profile TCS conversion case. This gives a new twist to the alleged sexual harassment and forced conversion case at TCS’s Nashik office.
First Chargesheet Runs 3,500 Pages
Nashik Police have filed the first chargesheet, running nearly 3,500 pages, in the first of nine cases registered in the TCS matter. The case, filed at Deolali Camp Police Station, includes charges of rape, hurting religious sentiments, and offenses under the Atrocities Act.
According to the chargesheet, prime accused Nida Khan absconded after the Nashik court rejected her anticipatory bail plea. It later emerged that former AIMIM corporator Mateen Patel had given her shelter to hide from police.
“You’ll Have to Ask Imtiaz Jaleel”
When the Crime Branch summoned Mateen Patel to Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar for questioning and asked about Nida Khan’s whereabouts, Patel repeatedly replied: “You’ll have to ask Imtiaz Jaleel.”
After sustained interrogation, Patel finally gave police the address in Naregaon-Kausar Cidco, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, where Nida and her family were hiding. Police immediately raided the location and detained Nida Khan, her parents, brother, and aunt.
"Will Stand With Victim’s Family”
Imtiaz Jaleel has not denied meeting Nida Khan’s family. On April 21, he publicly stated he would stand with the victim’s family. He also led protests against the administration’s demolition action.
Speaking at a rally, Jaleel said, “We will fight this battle legally. The party will build Mateen an even bigger and better house at the same spot.”
Imtiaz Jaleel Responds
Jaleel, currently in Saudi Arabia for Hajj, reacted to the development: “I am not aware that my name is in the chargesheet. But I am fully ready to face any kind of inquiry. I have already admitted that I met that girl’s Nida’s family, and I will continue my fight for what I believe is right.”
Meanwhile, Mateen Patel’s lawyer Abhaysingh Bhosale said, “Patel may have named Jaleel because he is the party’s Maharashtra state president. There is no conspiracy here; this is only being given a political colour.”
