Nepal Flash Flood Tragedy: Call for Intensified Rescue and Relief Efforts

Kathmandu: Deep sorrow has been expressed over the loss of lives and widespread property damage caused by the sudden flooding of the Bhote Koshi River in Nepal’s Rasuwa and Nuwakot districts.

The devastating flash flood has caused extensive destruction, with homes, roads and infrastructure swept away and a large number of people reported missing. Rescue operations involving security forces and other agencies are continuing across the affected areas. 

Amid the crisis, an appeal has been made to the Nepal government, political parties, social organisations, security forces, relief agencies and the general public to intensify search, rescue and relief operations and provide urgent assistance to affected families.

The disaster has triggered a major emergency response, with Nepal deploying helicopters, security personnel and medical teams to reach stranded and injured people. 

Authorities are continuing efforts to locate missing people, evacuate those trapped in flood-hit areas and assess the extent of the destruction. The situation remains critical as rescue teams work in difficult terrain.
