AHEAD’s X Account Suspended Days Before Mohan Bhagwat’s Madison Square Garden Event

New York, August 27: Social media platform X has suspended the account of American Hindus for Engagement and Dialogue (AHEAD), an organisation involved in organising the upcoming “Universal Oneness Celebration” featuring RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat in New York.

The event is scheduled for August 29 at Madison Square Garden’s Infosys Theater. AHEAD has appealed to X for reinstatement of its account, saying it believes the suspension may have occurred in error. The organisation said its communications have focused on peace, harmony, mutual understanding and interfaith dialogues

X has not publicly disclosed a reason for the suspension, and there is currently no confirmed evidence linking the action to the controversy surrounding Bhagwat’s visit.

The suspension comes amid growing debate over the New York event, with New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani opposing the gathering and other groups planning protests. Meanwhile, the Hindu American Foundation has issued a security advisory urging attendees to remain vigilant and keep interactions civil.
