Modi Government Eyes Direct Gen Z Connect Through University Outreach Programme
Modi Government Plans ‘One Day, One University’ Programme to Connect With Gen Z
The Narendra Modi government is planning a nationwide ‘One Day, One University’ outreach programme aimed at strengthening direct engagement with Generation Z. Under the initiative, a Union minister is expected to visit a university each day to interact with students, hear their concerns and understand their views on issues affecting young Indians.
The programme is also expected to give ministers an opportunity to explain government schemes focused on education, employment, skills and youth welfare. Education Minister Pralhad Joshi and Youth Affairs and Sports Minister Mansukh Mandaviya are reportedly coordinating the initiative.
The proposed outreach comes amid recent student concerns and protests over examination-related issues, including the NEET paper-leak controversy. The initiative was also discussed at a Union Cabinet meeting chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, according to reports.
