Educators vs Anchor: Anjana Om Kashyap’s ‘2 Kaudi Ke Teachers’ Jibe Triggers Backlash.

Babita Tyagi, Khan Sir, Abhinay Sir defend online educators amid NEET-UG row; say media missing real issues like paper leaks, fuel prices.

New Delhi, June 7, 2026 – A sharp war of words has erupted between television journalist Anjana Om Kashyap and online educators after the Aaj Tak anchor referred to some coaching-centre and YouTube teachers as “2 kaudi ke teachers”during a debate on the alleged NEET-UG paper leak controversy.

Educators Respond.

Popular educator Babita Tyagi, widely known as Babita Ma’am, condemned the remark. She accused sections of the media of “ignoring issues such as rising fuel prices, examination irregularities and alleged failures in the education system” while “targeting teachers who provide affordable education to students.”

Khan Sir and Abhinay Sir also joined the criticism. Both argued that online teaching platforms have been crucial for students from rural and economically weaker backgrounds, giving them access to quality education that was previously unaffordable or unavailable.

NEET-UG Backdrop.

The comments come amid mounting public anger over alleged irregularities in competitive examinations, including NEET-UG. Students and parents have held protests in multiple states, demanding transparency, re-examinations, and systemic reform.

Viral Debate.

The exchange has gone viral on social media. Supporters of the educators say digital teachers have democratized learning and that mainstream media is “out of touch”with student struggles. Others argue that scrutiny of the coaching industry’s practices and claims is legitimate journalism.

As of Sunday evening, neither Anjana Om Kashyap nor Aaj Tak had issued an official response to the educators’ statements.

The row has widened into a broader debate on the roles and responsibilities of educators and television journalists in shaping public discourse around education policy.
