Iran Warns US Of ‘Unlimited’ Retaliation If Attacked, Threatens American Bases Across Middle East

Tehran, September 20, 2026: Iran has issued a fresh warning to the United States, saying any renewed American attack would trigger retaliation “without limitations or considerations” against US military bases and interests in the region.

lran’s Armed Forces Central Command said on Sunday that Tehran had information suggesting the United States and its regional allies could be preparing for a new military operation. The command warned that any such attack would be met with sustained retaliation, while countries that participate in the operation could also be treated as parties to the conflict. 

Threat To US Bases In Middle East

Iranian officials have repeatedly warned that American military facilities in the Middle East could become targets if Washington resumes attacks. Supreme National Security Council Secretary Mohsen Rezaei separately said Iran would strike US bases and American interests in the region with greater intensity if attacked. 

The latest warning comes amid heightened tensions across the region, including attacks involving Iran-aligned forces and growing concerns about the security of Gulf shipping and energy infrastructure. The US State Department has also warned Americans in the region about the possibility of further escalation and disruptions to travel. 

Tehran Signals Both War Readiness And Talks

Despite the military warnings, Iran has simultaneously signalled that it remains open to negotiations. Rezaei said Tehran had conveyed conditions for restarting talks through Qatar, including an end to fighting on all fronts, the release of frozen Iranian assets and an end to the US naval blockade of Iranian ports. 

Rezaei has warned that if Iran's conditions are rejected, Tehran is prepared for what he described as a “decisive war.” 

The latest statements underscore the increasingly volatile situation between Washington and Tehran, with both sides issuing threats while diplomatic channels remain active.
