Search Operation Underway for Missing Indian Sailor After Vessel Attack
A commercial vessel came under attack off the coast of Oman on Sunday, leaving one Indian sailor missing while 13 others were safely rescued.
India’s Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) confirmed that there were 14 Indian sailors aboard the vessel. Thirteen have been rescued, while efforts to locate the missing crew member are continuing.
The MEA said it is closely monitoring the situation and that Omani authorities are providing full cooperation in the ongoing search-and-rescue operation.
The incident has once again raised concerns over the safety of commercial shipping routes in the region, particularly as tensions and attacks have increased around key maritime routes in the Middle East.
