Netanyahu Pushes Back on Vance: "Israel Has Other Allies Too, Including India".

Israeli PM cites India's support amid tensions over US-Iran deal and Lebanon operations.

THE CLASH:

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has rejected US Vice President JD Vance's claim that "Washington is Israel's only powerful ally."Speaking on Fox News Sunday Briefing, Netanyahu said Israel also relies on support from other nations, specifically naming India.

WHAT NETANYAHU SAID:

"We have some more friends, like a small country like India, you know, there are 1.4 billion people and to be honest, we get tremendous support from there." Netanyahu’s remarks came as tensions rise between the two allies over Israeli military operations in Lebanon and the US peace agreement with Iran.

WHY IT MATTERS NOW:

Last month, Vance said during a White House briefing that Israel should respect America-Iran peace talks. When asked about reports that Israeli leaders were unhappy with the US-Iran agreement and were criticizing President Trump, Vance responded:

"If I were in the cabinet of an Israeli government, I would probably criticize the only powerful ally I have left in the whole world."Netanyahu’s Sunday comments are seen as a direct response to that statement.

THE BIGGER PICTURE

The exchange highlights growing friction between Washington and Jerusalem over Middle East policy, while also spotlighting India’s growing role as a strategic partner for Israel.
