NO CONFIRMED ATTACK ON IRAN FOREIGN MINISTER — LATEST STATEMENTS & THREATS.

FM Abbas Araghchi warns "aggressors will see our might" after Sharif University strike.

WHAT'S THE LATEST:

There is no confirmed report of Iran's Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi being physically attacked as of today.

What has happened in the last 24 hours:

FM ARAGHCHI ISSUES STRONG WARNING AFTER TEHRAN STRIKE:

On Monday, April 6, 2026, Araghchi posted on X after a joint US-Israeli airstrike hit Sharif University of Technology in Tehran.

He wrote: "Israeli-U.S. aggressors have bombed the MIT of Iran... Aggressors will see our might".

Iranian state media Press TV reported the university's mosque and gas post were damaged, causing explosions and evacuations.

 PREVIOUS FEARS OF ASSASSINATION PLOT:

US officials had feared 5 days ago that Israel was plotting to kill head Iranian negotiators, including Araghchi and Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf.

The two were reportedly on an Israeli "kill list" in March, but were removed from it after US intervention.

During Ghalibaf's flight from Pakistan in April, Iran's security forces even notified the plane of an alleged Israeli plan to attack it.

FM ALSO IN POLITICAL FIGHT AT HOME:

Reports from May 1 say President Masoud Pezeshkian and Speaker Ghalibaf are seeking Araghchi's removal over his conduct in nuclear talks.

They accuse him of acting more like an aide to IRGC Commander Ahmad Vahidi than a cabinet minister.

CONTEXT: ESCALATING US-IRAN TENSIONS:

The US revoked a license allowing Iran to sell oil and launched new strikes after Iran allegedly attacked 3 commercial ships in the Strait of Hormuz.

Iran's Foreign Ministry condemned the US move as a breach of the ceasefire framework and said Iran would take "any measure... to safeguard its interests".

Araghchi also warned on June 3 that any attack on Beirut would trigger a "full-scale resumption" of the West Asia war.

As of now, Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi is safe and active. He is issuing warnings, not reporting injuries. The last direct danger reported was an alleged Israeli threat to his negotiator convoy weeks ago, not an attack on Araghchi himself.
