Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Date 26 - Under the National Tuberculosis Eradication Program, 485 Gram Panchayats in the district have been declared tuberculosis-free. District Collector Dilip Swamy directed here today to prepare an action plan to effectively implement this program in the remaining 390 Gram Panchayats and make the district tuberculosis-free.

A meeting of various committees of the district health system was held today. The meeting held in the district planning committee hall was attended by District Surgeon Dr. Kamlakar Mudkhedkar, District Health Officer Dr. Abhay Dhanorkar, Municipal Health Officer Dr. Paras Mandlecha, Medical Officer Dr. Padmaja Saraf, District Tuberculosis Control Officer Dr. Vaishali Dakle, District Statistics Officer Lipare, Epidemic Disease Control Officer Dr. Sarika Landge, Dr. Jayshree Lahane, Resident Medical Officer Dr. Prashant Badhe, District Program Manager Dr. Vinayak Munde, and all taluka medical officers, rural hospital officers, etc. participated through video conferencing.

Review of various committees

Birth Death Registration and Vital Statistics District Level Coordination Committee, Environmental Change and Human Health, Routine Immunization, Measles Rubella Vaccination Campaign, 15th Finance Commission, Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Jan Arogya Yojana, District Quality Assurance Committee, National Tobacco Control Program, National Tuberculosis Eradication Program, Emergency Medical Services, National AIDS Eradication Program, Hindu Hruday Samrat Balasaheb Thackeray Apla Dawakhana, Patient Welfare Committee, Bogus Medical Professional Search Committee, etc. Such committees were reviewed.

Prepare an action plan for the district to be free from tuberculosis.

It was informed in the meeting that 4 lakh 41 thousand 181 tuberculosis-prone people were tested under the National Tuberculosis Eradication Program in the district. Through this, no people with tuberculosis were found in 485 gram panchayats out of 875 gram panchayats in the district. Therefore, these gram panchayats have been declared tuberculosis-free. It was informed in the meeting that there are 24 thousand 338 patients who have been found as suspects in this test and will be diagnosed with tuberculosis infection or not by doing X-ray and laboratory tests. District Collector Swamy directed that the help of government and private laboratories should be taken for laboratory and X-ray tests of suspected patients in all gram panchayats in the district. For this, coordination should be made at the district level. An action plan should be prepared to make the district tuberculosis-free by treating and rehabilitating the affected patients.

Appeal to report bogus doctor

In the last year, 5 bogus medical professionals were found in the district. District Collector Swamy gave instructions to intensify this campaign. If bogus doctors are found in the district, citizens should complain to the Taluka Medical Officer. He also said that the names of the complainants will be kept confidential.

Verify birth records

While guiding the District Level Coordination Committee on Birth and Death Registration, District Collector Swamy said that the birth records should be verified. He directed that the Group Development Officer, Gram Sevak and Taluka Health Officer should conduct this verification and submit a report to the District Level Committee.
