Trump Claims Iran Has Agreed to 'Almost Everything' U.S. Wants in Nuclear Talks.

President says Tehran conceded on key demands to prevent nuclear weapons; Iran rejects claims, calls proposal "one-sided".

Trump: "They've Agreed to Just About Everything We Need"

U.S. President Donald Trump said Thursday that Iran has conceded to nearly all American conditions in ongoing diplomatic talks, with the primary goal being to prevent Tehran from acquiring nuclear weapons.

Speaking to CNBC, Trump stated: “I think they’ve agreed to just about everything we need. This is the denuking of Iran. You can't let them have a nuclear weapon.”

He emphasized that regime change is not the objective*, saying: “I'm not looking for regime change. I'm looking for something very simple. They cannot have a nuclear weapon.”

What’s on the Table in Doha:

The comments follow two days of indirect talks in Doha mediated by Qatar and Pakistan. Sources say negotiators focused on maritime traffic through the Strait of Hormuz and unfreezing Iranian funds from a 60-day interim agreement signed June 17, 2026. The nuclear issue was not discussed in detail.

Under the June MoU, both sides agreed to:

Halt hostilities and reopen the Strait of Hormuz

Launch 60-day negotiations on Iran’s nuclear program

Maintain status quo: Iran won’t expand its nuclear program; U.S. won’t impose new sanctions d091

Trump claimed the U.S. has severely degraded Iran’s military: “They have some missiles left, we could wipe them out too... I hit them three times last week very hard.”He added Iran has “300 per cent inflation, they're making no money.”

Iran Pushes Back: "One-Sided and Unfair".

Tehran swiftly rejected Trump’s characterization. A senior Iranian official told Reuters the U.S. proposal is “one-sided and unfair, serving only US and Israeli interests.”

Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baqaei denied enriched uranium would be transferred: “Iran's enriched uranium is not going to be transferred anywhere... Transfer of Iran's enriched uranium to the US has never been raised in negotiations.”

Iranian parliament speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf said: “We will not approve any agreement until we are certain that the rights of the Iranian people have been upheld.”

Sticking Points Remain

Key disputes include:

Uranium stockpile: U.S. reportedly seeks 20-year suspension of enrichment; Iran offered 5 years

Strait of Hormuz: Trump said the deal would reopen it, but Iran’s Fars agency said Tehran would manage the strait

Sanctions relief: Iran demands unfreezing of $20B in funds and compensation for war damage

Background: War to Diplomacy:

The talks follow a four-month U.S.-Israel war that began February 28, 2026, when strikes killed Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei. A ceasefire took effect April 8, with the 60-day MoU signed June 17.

Vice President JD Vance clarified no funds would be released to Iran just for signing: “Economic benefits would flow to Tehran if it meets its obligations.”

Next steps: Talks are set to resume after Khamenei’s burial on July 9.
