Dark dealings of Cantonment Police Station! Serious crime like robbery suppressed.

Dark dealings of Cantonment Police Station! Serious crime like robbery suppressed.

Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar:- If those who are supposed to protect the law themselves are suppressing crimes, then whom should ordinary citizens turn to for justice? Such an angry question is now being raised about the functioning of the Cantonment Police Station. Even after nearly one and a half months, a serious cognizable offense has not been registered, casting a dark shadow of suspicion over the role of the police.

Imran Khan Usman Khan (age 24) submitted a written first complaint at the Cantonment Police Station about a shocking incident that occurred on March 12, 2026. While he was leaving the Waqf Board with RTI-related documents and a pen drive, Sheikh Abdul Bashir stopped him, grabbed him by the throat, forcibly dragged him inside, searched him, and snatched the documents and pen drive. Not stopping there, he again intercepted him in front of Ghati Hospital and openly threatened, “If you go to the police station, I will file a false case against you.”

This incident is not just a simple dispute but a serious cognizable offense, and action under Section 309 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita was expected. However, shockingly, even after a written complaint was submitted, the Cantonment Police have still not registered a case.

Are crimes buried in the 'Inward-Outward' stamp?

A bizarre and shocking practice at police stations in Sambhajinagar city is coming to light. When a complainant submits a written complaint, it is not directly registered as an FIR, nor is it entered into the computer. Instead, the complaint is given to the "Inward-Outward" clerk, merely stamped, and the matter is shelved. As a result, hundreds of serious crimes never make it into official records, as is being widely discussed across the city.

Are supervisory officers asleep or silently consenting?

If the Assistant Commissioner of Police and the Zonal Deputy Commissioner of Police carefully examine the “Local Application Register” within their jurisdiction, hundreds of such unregistered cases could be exposed at every police station. But the question is, are senior officers turning a blind eye to this?

An industry of suppressing crimes? Will action be taken?

If an impartial and thorough investigation is conducted into this matter, not only the concerned police officers but the entire system could come under suspicion. It cannot be ruled out that criminal cases could be filed against the officers involved in suppressing crimes, leading to action ranging from suspension to dismissal.

Citizens’ question: Will justice be delivered or is it just a paper game?

Today, the issue is not just about one Imran Khan, but about the safety of all citizens of Sambhajinagar city and trust in the justice system. If the doors of police stations themselves are closed to justice, then whom should citizens approach for redress?

Now, the only thing to see is—will senior officers truly wake up, or will this ‘crime-suppressing operation’ of the Cantonment Police Station continue as it is?
